What types of treatment do you offer at Ascend Recovery?
We offer a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment program that focuses on both addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns. Our program includes three levels of care:
- Residential Care: Intensive treatment focused on addiction, trauma, and underlying mental health issues.
- Extended Care: Extended care focused on building executive functioning skills and preparing clients for independent living.
- Transitional Living: A phase of care designed to help clients reintegrate into the community with continued outpatient support.
What addictions do you treat?
We specialize in treating substance use disorders including addiction to alcohol, prescription drugs, heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, and synthetic drugs. Our program provides mental heath focused care for clients dealing with co-occurring diagnosis, ensuring a holistic approach to recovery.
What is dual diagnosis treatment?
Dual diagnosis refers to treating both substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues (such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc.) simultaneously. At Ascend Recovery, we specialize in dual diagnosis treatment. Our program integrates mental health therapy, addiction treatment, and psychiatric care to ensure clients receive comprehensive care for both conditions. We work with each client to develop an individualized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs.
Do you offer detox?
Yes, while not at our facility, we partner with trusted detox centers to provide clients with a safe and seamless transition into treatment. Detox is an essential first step for many clients, and we ensure that it is managed by experienced professionals to support your physical and mental well-being.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, Ascend Recovery works with many major insurance providers to help cover the cost of treatment. We handle the insurance verification and utilization review process, making it easier for you to understand what your insurance will cover. However, please note that we do not accept Utah Medicaid or Out-of-State Medicaid plans. Where are you located?
Ascend Recovery is located in the beautiful Wasatch Front Mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah. Our serene setting provides the perfect environment for healing, offering breathtaking views of Mount Timpanogos and Utah Lake, and is designed to create a peaceful and supportive space for recovery.
What should I bring with me to treatment?
We recommend bringing:
- Clothes for ten days
- Athletic wear for the gym
- Light jacket or sweater
- Athletic shoes for exercise
- Toiletries (razors, toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, conditioner)
- Books for personal reflection and relaxation

How do I start the admissions process?
To begin the admissions process, simply contact us by phone or through our website. Our admissions team will schedule an initial consultation to learn more about your or your loved one’s needs. From there, we’ll conduct a screening and provide information about treatment options, financial details, and next steps. Our team will guide you through every part of the process, from securing insurance to making travel arrangements.
Do you offer aftercare?
Yes, Ascend Recovery offers lifetime aftercare for all clients who complete our program. This includes weekly group sessions and a year-long drug testing and monitoring program to help clients stay on track with their recovery goals. We are committed to supporting clients long after they complete their treatment, ensuring they have the tools and support needed for continued success.
Can my family be involved in the treatment process?
Yes, family involvement is a vital part of the recovery process. Ascend Recovery offers a bi-weekly family program where family members can participate in family therapy, multi-family group therapy, and experiential therapy. We believe that supporting the entire family is crucial to creating a strong foundation for recovery. Family members are encouraged to engage in the healing process alongside their loved ones.
Do you accept referrals?
Yes, Ascend Recovery accepts referrals from professionals including therapists, interventionists, psychiatrists, and consultants. We work closely with referring professionals to ensure the best possible care for each client. What happens after I complete treatment at Ascend Recovery?
After completing treatment, you will have built a strong foundation for continued recovery through our multi-phase program. Clients transition through residential care, extended care, and Transitional Living , all while developing the necessary skills for sustained sobriety. Once in Transitional Living , clients are fully reintegrated into the community with continued support and outpatient care. Additionally, our lifetime aftercare program provides ongoing support to help ensure long-term success in recovery.
